Nancy Belknap is a California State Certified Addiction Counselor and Relapse Prevention Therapist. She has been in active practice as an addictions counselor in many different capacities in Santa Barbara for the past 15 years. Nancy grew up in South Africa and completed a BA in Fine Arts from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (1978), as well as, a BA degree in Art History and Philosophy from the University of South Africa (1997). She was also the owner/operator of a high end County Restaurant in South Africa from 1983-1993. She completed an Associates degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling from Santa Barbara City College. Nancy’s practice began as a counselor at the Salvation Army for two years. She then worked at Casa Serena, a State Licensed Residential Treatment Program for Women, as both a counselor and as Program Director for 11 years. She has maintained a private practice in Santa Barbara since 2000. Nancy has extensive experience in working with individuals and families struggling with Chemical Dependency, Trauma, Grief, and Relapse Prevention.
